The Youth Volunteers Initiative of the AMY Foundation, led by its Founder, Alexander Jacob T. Yao, held its very first face-to-face post-pandemic Busog Dunong feeding program last September 2, 2022 at the Sagrada Familia Parish in Caloocan City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joined by his Co-Founder and sister, Clara Nicole Yao, and Parish priest, Fr. Ildefonso \u201cJun\u201d de Guzman Jr., Jacob warmly welcomed 120 children ages six to twelve to partake of the Sopas and other snacks that were prepared by the tireless staff of AMY Foundation. Zesto Fruit juice was also distributed to all attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacob shared a few words as the children and their companions enjoyed the mid-afternoon snacks. He expressed his gratitude that despite the strong rains that afternoon, many were still able to come. Jacob also thanked the staff of AMY Foundation who had been working round-the clock for the past two weeks with the help of Commission on Social Services and Development ( CSSD ) of Caloocan City to organize today\u2019s event. Jacob shared that he and Clara hope many more feeding program events can be organized now that the country has started to open-up once again as he reiterated his belief that poor nutrition negatively affects not only the physical development but also their learning capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In past years, the AMY Foundation have hosted annual feeding programs in Caloocan City\u2019s various baranggay to celebrate its Anniversary on December 8. However, Jacob and Clara felt that AMY Foundation should not have to wait until December 8 as the government had just announced its mandate for all public and private schools to return to face-to-face classes. The siblings believe the families with children from Caloocan\u2019s public schools would welcome having AMY Foundation restart its feeding program sooner than later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
