2013 Christmas Party for the Street Children

Once again, the season of sharing and giving has come, a time to share a fruitful and bountiful year for everyone.

Before we bid goodbye to 2013, AMY Foundation celebrated its Annual Christmas Party for the Street Children on December 20 at Barangay 121 Zone 11 located in Caloocan City. About 70 kids excitedly participated in the said event and really expressed their gratitude for holding the Christmas Party in the barangay for the first time.

Ms. Linalyn Gabrido, one of the active volunteers of AMY Foundation, who happens to be the newly elected Baragay Chairman of the area, led the affair. The entire community was in all smiles seeing the kids enjoying the parlor games, receiving loot bags containing candies and toys, with some barangay staff who also assisted in distributing school kits to the kids.

A simple yet meaningful day was capped by merienda which everybody shared and enjoyed.

“The darkest nights produce the brightest stars”

I value education so much. I asked myself if I could really go to college since my father (Carlos Lacanlale) is a construction worker and my mother (Dolly Lacanlale) is a housewife only. My dream was made possible because of Alfredo M. Yao (AMY) Foundation partnered with my determination and hard work. The foundation is not just a simple program that helps those students who are willing to study but a sunlight that beams to those flowers (students) who are about to wither (lose hope).
